This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and a career in nursing; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, and occupation-specific skills.

Program Description:
This program is for people interested in performing the duties associated with being a Nurse. Graduates are prepared to practice as a nurse in primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings where policies and procedures are specified and guidance is available. The Associate of Science Degree in nursing program is accomplished in six semesters. The Associate of Science in Nursing is designed to provide educational and clinical experiences at the technical level and to contribute to the promotion of health care in the community.
Siena College of Health offers an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing to both Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) [transition student] and those who have no previous nursing education [generic student]. The LPN to RN Transition Track recognizes the LPN’s nursing knowledge and skills. This program is designed for the LPN who feels qualified to participate in an accelerated program. The Generic Program is for the applicants who have no previous nursing education or the LPN who does not wish to enroll in an accelerated program. Since nursing is a limited access program, entrance requirements are the same.

Siena College of Health is licensed by the Florida Board of Nursing and the Commission for Independent Education.
