Nursing Assistant

This program leads to the nursing assistant certification exam. Class emphasis is on the gerontological nursing assistant role and responsibilities as a health care team member. Other key components in this course are medical terminology, legal and ethical responsibilities, nutrition, principles of asepsis, infection control, patient care skills, and emotional, social and spiritual needs of the patient, and employ-ability skills. State exam fee requirements are the student’s responsibility.
